Hi, I'm Giacomo Zecchini. R&D Director at Merj, working on enterprise platforms.

What I actually do is connect the dots, tying together technical knowledge and web standards to build things that work well: fast, findable, accessible, and harder to break. I spent my teenage years hacking and taking things apart to see how they worked, built a few startups when I was young enough to think sleep was optional.

Web Performance is something I've cared about since back when "make it fast" was just good manners. Web standards matter to me for the same reason: they're the quiet contract that lets the web actually work, and when everyone honours them, everything downstream gets cheaper, faster, and more robust. I spend a lot of time in the layers most people scroll past: HTTP, rendering pipelines, the protocols underneath.
